AmaWaterways Scoops Hat-Trick In Cruise Critic Awards

6th October 2015

AmaWaterways Cruise Critic Awards

Cruise Critic, so often used as a hub of information for everyone within, and interested in, the cruise industry, has announced the 2015 winners of its UK Editors’ Pick Awards. Every year, the experts at the world’s largest website for cruising reviews choose their favourite operators, ships and ports of call in a variety of different categories. The accolades are given across both the ocean and river cruise sectors, with specific honours being awarded for things such as ‘Best Shore Excursions’, ‘Best UK Port of Call’ and ‘Best for Value’.

In terms of river cruising, AmaWaterways were the big winners this year, as they earned a total of three acknowledgements, more than any other operator in this area. Whilst the awards for ‘Best Dining’ and ‘Best for Active Cruisers’ are definitely something to get excited about, it was the gong for ‘Best River Cruise Line’ that will have pleased the Ama team the most. This, along with last year’s domination in the European Berlitz guide, helps to cement them as the number one company to sail with when taking to the continent’s inland waterways and beyond.

AmaWaterways Bikes

A fleet of twenty-four bicycles on each of the 16 European ships played a big role in earning the award for ‘Best for Active Cruisers’. These, along with the range of cycling and hiking excursions that are available in partnership with Backroads, mean that there are plenty of ways to get out and explore your surroundings on an AmaWaterways river cruise. As far as the award for ‘Best for Dining’ goes, the experts at Cruise Critic cited the fact that AmaWaterways has quality, flavoursome and varied food options on all of its ships. The daily Vietnamese noodle station was particularly highlighted for its uniqueness and deliciousness.

Other winners include lines such as Tauck (‘Best for Enrichment’), Uniworld (‘Best Shore Excursions’) and Emerald Waterways (‘Best Value’). CroisiEurope’s duel paddle-wheeled Loire Princesse also received the distinction for ‘Best New River Ship’. You can see the full list of winners on the Cruise Critic website.
