Emerald To Bring Harmony To The Mekong

31st July 2018

Until now Emerald Waterways, like many other river cruise operators, has chartered Mekong Navigator for their Mekong River cruises. However, with the announcement of the brand new Emerald Harmony, they are set to have their own ship at their disposal for sailing the waters of Vietnam and Cambodia.

Due to make her debut in August 2019, Emerald Harmony will not just be any ship, she will become the cruise line’s eighth Star-Ship, offering impressive levels of comfort, style and space. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the 42 well-appointed staterooms and suites, a massive 32 of which feature Emerald’s innovative Panoramic Balconies where the whole room becomes a balcony when the window descends at the touch of a button.

The other 10 are made up of four standard lead-in staterooms, four Grand Balcony Suites and two Owner’s Suites that boast 450 square feet of space and a wrap-around terrace with Jacuzzi.

As for the public areas, Emerald Harmony will offer relaxation in the Horizon Lounge, delicious local cuisine in the Reflections Restaurant and the chance to chill out around the inviting infinity pool. And all the while, you will never be too far from a bar offering refreshing alcohol and soft drinks or speciality teas and coffees that will instantly make you feel at home.

There will initially be a choice of three different itineraries if you are looking to sail aboard Emerald Harmony. The 12-night sailing entitled Majestic Mekong will take you between Ho Chi Minh City and Siem Reap, the 16-night Treasures and Temples of Vietnam and Cambodia includes an extension to Hanoi and Ha Long Bay, and the 20-night Grand Tour of Vietnam and Cambodia offers a more in-depth itinerary and an overnight stay in Siem Reap.

Each of these itineraries includes a stop in Ho Chi Minh, a city for which the ship has been purposefully built. The specifications mean that the vessel can sail right into the heart of this vibrant destination and allow guests to spend more time exploring and less time waiting for transfers.
