New Website Brings New River Cruising Experiences

15th November 2016

Our brand new website is now live and eagle-eyed visitors will have noticed that there are a few new additions when it comes to where and with which company you can cruise. We still have a fantastic range of river cruises in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas for you to choose from, but there are also a few more unique itineraries amongst our options.

Here are just a few that may inspire you.

The Murray River

murray-river-australia

The Murray is Australia’s longest river, flowing through the states of Victoria and South Australia. Our river cruises in this region are operated by Captain Cook Cruises, a well-established company that started off by offering trips across Sydney’s iconic harbour. A holiday in this part of the world would appeal to nature lovers, wine connoisseurs and anyone who wants to get to know a bit about the history of Australia.

There’s the choice of three, four and seven-night itineraries and you will be sailing aboard an authentic paddle steamer by the name of Murray Princess. As you float through the fantastic scenery, you will be able to spot interesting wildlife, visit national parks and even sample some traditional bush tucker.

French Canals

Belmond Alouette

As well as Seine and Rhone river cruises and those that sail between the Garonne, Gironde and Dordogne rivers, we can now offer relaxing trips along the French Canals in regions such as Champagne and Provence. This is the perfect way to experience typical life in the rural areas of France whilst enjoying the never-ending vineyards and beautiful chateaux that you’ll see on shore excursions.

Operators such as Belmond and European Waterways can offer nostalgic barges which accommodate anything from two to 12 guests in effortless luxury. This intimate atmosphere means you will enjoy fantastically attentive service, from the delicious cuisine on offer to the knowledge of your local guides.

The Lower Volga

Uglich

Many cruises along the Russian Waterways take place on the popular route between St. Petersburg and Moscow, but our Lower Volga river cruises can take you all the way from Russia’s capital to the shores of the Black Sea. Courtesy of Volga Dream, a ship run by a company of the same name, you can extend your Russian adventure and learn more of the local culture.

Along the way, there will be themed evenings that highlight traditional dress, dancing and past times. You will also get to sample some of the local vodka and visit impressive, imperial palaces and churches.

Indian Cruise And Stay

Bhutan

The Brahmaputra is a fascinating river that winds its way through India’s Assam region, taking all that sail along it to remote villages, tea plantations, river islands and areas that are teeming with wildlife. However, it’s not just the sights along the banks that you will get to enjoy when you choose a trip from Far Horizon.

Our range of different itineraries will give you a chance to explore on land before you board the ship. You have the option to discover the Golden Triangle of Agra, Delhi and Jaipur; travel to the mysterious land of Bhutan; or relax on the beautiful island of Sri Lanka.

If you are inspired by any of these unique river cruising experiences, our team will help you find the perfect itinerary. Contact us today for more information or to book your next holiday.
