After moving to America in 1882, it was Herman Tauck’s son Arthur who carried out the first tour in 1925 and things took off from there. The company have come a long way since that first trip through New England, but it is their mission and beliefs that have enabled them to become one for the most successful river cruising operators in Europe.

Starting in 1925 and now with 90 years of experience under their belt, Tauck provides river cruises along the famed waterways of Europe. River cruises were introduced in 1992 and since then their fleet of has grown to now number 7, including numerous ships that are chartered from Swiss company SCYLLA. These luxury riverboats are stylishly appointed both inside and out and contain an atmosphere likened to that of an intimate club.
There are seven different grades of cabin on board the Tauck ships which offer increasing levels of comfort and amenities. From standard cabins to luxurious suites you are sure to find the right stateroom for you at the right price. Some options will have balconies and the amount of space you have will obviously depend on which grade you choose.
Cabins are decorated in rich red and gold colours with high-quality linens and Tauck’s exclusive offering of Molton Brown toiletries in each en-suite bathroom. The plush bedding will offer the perfect retreat at the end of a long day and the marbled bath found in each room is yet another excellent place to relax.
Mealtimes will feature excellent cuisine and dishes made using ingredients from the area in which you are travelling. There will be a choice to dine at a formal restaurant or in a more casual atmosphere, whilst guests can also be flexible with their dining times and where they would like to sit.
Meals are included as part of Tauck’s excellent all-inclusive packages, as are various different soft and alcoholic beverages. There is also the option to eat outside on most ships, as long as the weather permits it.
